Grazing as a way of regenerating biodiversity

Why work with goats?

Goat farming in Spain has faced major changes over the last two decades. Traditional grazing systems on the Iberian Peninsula are deeply entwined with nature. This project aims to help goat farmers maintain and improve their extensive farming practices so they can keep providing vital ecological services in key regions.

Regenerative livestock farming

Working with natural systems ensures the long-term viability and resilience of the land so it can continue to provide for generations to come.

Resources for goat farmers

We help goat farmers maintain and improve their extensive livestock farming practices so they can keep providing vital ecological services in key regions and threatened habitats where these activities are rapidly declining.

Experiences

Discover the essential work already being done by goat farmers to restore and conserve areas of high biodiversity value.

The faces of the people who make it possible

The project will create pilot experiences in three Spanish regions home to high biodiversity areas that need to be preserved and where goat farming is a key enabler: Castile-La Mancha, Extremadura and Valencia/Murcia.
